Using a scarf as a belt is always fun! A nice silk scarf makes a lovely and sophisticated belt; it is also a great way to accent any winter or summer outfit, whether casual or dressy. There are many ways to tie it. It depends on the size and shape of your scarf. It depends too if you want to turn your scarf into a classic or a fancy belt.
Among the scarf belt styles we like and we suggest….
~ Scarf simply tied around the waist: use an oblong scarf, a classic 36x36” (90x90cm) square scarf or an extra large square scarf folded into a long band. Then drape it around your waist. Two options: tie with a double knot and let the two ends hang down or create a bow to the front. For a touch of fun, think about tilting your silky belt to the side.
~ Scarf and buckle: use a buckle or a scarf ring. Slide the scarf through it. Then tie each scarf tip on each side of the buckle and tuck in. Other option: if your scarf is long enough, you can tie it in your back.
~ Front or side half belt: pull your scarf through two or three of your belt loops (front ones or side ones) and tie. This style can be created with a long oblong scarf or a 36x36" (90x90cm) scarf. It works too with a smaller one such as a 27x27” (70x70cm) square scarf. Très chic!
~ Coat or Trench half back belt: pull your scarf through the back loops of your coat and tie with a double knot. Divine!
Why would you spend on common belts while a silk scarf is enough to create a stunning and personal silky belt???
