Over sized was one of the major trends for 2014 (and it will be the same again for 2015). Clothes, accessories - scarves, handbags, fancy jewels: the bigger the better!
If you feel frumpy though in a massive coat or dress (kind of special for sure), you'd better embrace the trend by wearing extra large scarves: they allow infinity of styles, they are an elegant way to keep up with the trend and they are enough to make a fashion statement.
ANNE TOURAINE Paris™ extra large scarves are 100% silk and, because of their satin touch, you will enjoy their softness around your shoulders or your neck… but not only…
Here are ten scarf styling ideas - dressy or casual, classic or fun - to consider:
~ CLASSIC PARISIAN NECK SCARF
Fold your scarf into two, and then fold it again and again until you create a band. Then tie around your neck with a square knot. This style is perfect to create a fluffy neck scarf which will keep your neck warm.
You can also skip the knot step and let the trails hang down. Your scarf is long enough to stay in place.
~ EXTRA LONG NECK SCARF
Fold your scarf diagonally to create a very long band. Wear it loose around your neck and tie it to the front - or to the side for a touch of romanticism. One or two knots: your choice!
~ LARGE RODEO NECK SCARF
Fold you scarf in a triangle then fold it to shorten a little the triangle; center to the front of your neck. Bring the two tips to the back, cross them and bring them back to the front. Make one or two knots above the pointing tip.
~ CLASSIC SHOULDER WRAP
Fold your scarf in a large triangle. Wrap it around your shoulders to create a shawl and secure with a knot or a scarf ring.
~ LARGE ASYMMETRIC SHOULDER WRAP
Fold your scarf in a large triangle. Wrap it around your shoulders in an asymmetric way. Bring the longest trail to the opposite shoulder and let it hang in your back.
~ HEAD SCARF : A LA GRACE KELLY
Fold your scarf in a large triangle and center it on top of your head, next to your hairline. This way, your scarf won’t slip backwards when you tie it . Cross the two tips under your chin and bring them to the back of your neck. Tie with two tight knots above the pointing triangle. Sunglasses mandatory to complete this a la Grace Kelly look.
~ HEADBAND
Fold your scarf diagonally in a long band. Center on top of your head and tie with two tight knots at the back of your neck.
For a touch of glam, wear your scarf / headband on your forehead and play asymmetry again. Do not center your scarf. Instead make a trail longer than the other. Bring the longer trail to the front. Modern, different and irresistible!
~ BELT
Fold your scarf diagonally in a long band. Wrap it around your waist and secure with two knots (or a fluffy bow). And here you are wearing the most charming belt ever!
~ SARONG / BANDEAU COVER-UP
Summer is around the corner! Yesss! And cover-ups are women’s best friends…Tie the two upper tips of your large scarf to the front or to the side of your breast… and get ready to hear compliments for your dazzling sarong!
All these photos and scarf styles show that one can follow the trend, wear over sized accessories and still be very chic!
