As a renowned French silk scarf brand we cannot miss this celebration dear to our heart: Bastille Day (French people say le 14 juillet) is France’s National Day – a patriotic day dear to the hearts of the French people.
This special day starts with the traditional military parade on the Champs Elysées. Then, later in the evening blue, white, and red fireworks enlighten the sky while people love dancing in the streets all over the country and more especially in Paris (Montmartre, Eiffel Tower, St Germain, Champs Elysées, etc...) Of course, wearing the French flag colors is also part of this tradition.
One of our loyal customers – an American Lady visiting her French friends in July – sent us this delightful photo of her for us to share. Thank you Ms C. for wearing three ANNE TOURAINE Paris™ chiffon silk polka dot scarves so nicely braided together. It's really a cool and creative scarf style!
By the way, if you wonder where the three French flag (adopted in 1789) colors come from here is a quick and simple explanation:
► Blue is one of the two traditional colors of Paris (where the French revolution started - on July 14th 1789)
► White stands for the ancient color of the French monarchy.
► Red is the second traditional color of Paris
These three colors are occasionally taken to represent the three elements of the revolutionary motto: liberté (freedom: blue), égalité (equality: white), fraternité (brotherhood: red).
